COVERED BRIDGE BICYCLE TOUR

Hospitality
The MVBC Covered Bridge Bicycle Tour will spoil you with hospitality, well stocked rest stops, and top shelf SAG support. For your safety, Linn County Amateur Radio Emergency Services will provide continuous, on course communications.
On the longer routes you will get a real lunch to keep you fueled, and every participant will be rewarded with a root beer float at the finish! Bring your friends and enjoy a fine August day on your bike in the Willamette Valley with the MVBC as your host.
Getting to the Ride
All riders need to check in between 7:00 and 9:00 at the Linn County Fairgrounds. At the check in, riders will get maps, numbers, and pick up T-shirts (if ordered).
After finishing the ride, all riders are encouraged to celebrate with a root beer float and live music at the Linn County Fairgrounds.
The CBBT ride start and finish for all routes EXCEPT FOR the 23-mile route is at the Linn County Fairgrounds, just off I-5 in Albany, Oregon.
From I-5 South Bound (map link):
Take exit 234A. Turn right after STOP toward Armory (north).
R at next STOP toward Armory (east). Pacific Blvd becomes Knox Butte Av. Follow signs to Fair & Expo Center.
R at Expo Parkway (south). Proceed to parking lot. Note CBBT Start/Finish on right at Expo Center veranda.
From I-5 North Bound (map link):
Take exit 234.
R (east) on Knox Butte Av toward Fair & Expo Center.
R at Expo Parkway (south). Proceed to parking lot. Note CBBT Start/Finish on right at Expo Center veranda.
The CBBT ride start for the 23-mile route start and finish is at Scio High School, in Scio, Oregon.
After checking in at the Linn County Fairgrounds 23 mile riders will drive to Scio High School. After the ride be sure to return to the Fairgrounds for root beer floats and live music.

Go South from Expo to Santiam Hwy (Hwy 20) .
Turn left and go east about 6 miles to Hwy 226 on left
Follow 226 about 10 miles, no turns, go through Scio to Scio High school straightaway north
Policies
The CBBT participant policies are aimed entirely at safety considerations.
Helmets: You must bring and wear an approved helmet while riding.
On board repair kit:
You should carry -
spare inner tube(s)
patch kit
frame pump
tools for minor repairs
two water bottles
rain clothes for showers
sunscreen.
Music & ear buds: Kindly leave the music players and ear buds at home (or tucked away during the event). Riders using these will be asked to remove them.
Riding decorum: These rules will be enforced. Riders refusing to comply will be asked to leave the event.
Per State of Oregon Vehicle Code, cyclists must ride single file when motorists approach.
Please obey all applicable laws, and ride in a safe and courteous manner.
Watch for slower riders and warn others when passing. Do NOT pass on the right.
Minors: A parent or guardian must accompany riders under the age of 18.
Tour staff have the authority to disqualify any unsafe rider from the tour.
