Bike Education Programs
All proceeds from MVBC events go towards funding bicycle education programs in the Corvallis and Albany school districts. Our bicycle helmet program provides free helmets for kids at many local events. MVBC also works with our city, county, and state agencies to help assure safe riding conditions on all of our roads and bike paths.
A program for all 5th graders in Corvallis
The program is delivered by a instructor and assistant paid for by the Corvallis School District.
Students receive 1 ½ hours of instruction each day for a week.
Parent and community members help out.
Students learn the rules of the road, how to safety check their bike and how to adjust their helmet.
They have an opportunity to practice starting and stopping, left and right turns, intersection right of way, and complete a community ride.
Mostly they have a lot of fun!
Helmets for all!
The MVBC bike helmet program provides free helmets to kids at community events throughout the the year. In 2022 we put over 200 helmets on kids heads!
